Nanyang Kindergarten believes in educating each child holistically to face the challenges of the 21st century. We believe this can be accomplished by inculcating the right social values, providing wholesome programmes, suitable resources and facilities, having a team of dedicated staff and involving parents in our students learning process.

Learning at Nanyang Kindergarten is exciting and effective. Bilingualism is strongly emphasised, in tandem with the other units of the Nanyang family of schools. Our students are taught entirely in Mandarin for all subjects in Pre-Nursery and Nursery. Our Kindergarten 1 and 2 programmes are conducted 50% in English and 50% in Chinese. Our approach to language acquisition covers the aspects of listening, speaking, writing and reading. Through this approach, each child first learns to listen to instructions, then speak with confidence, before learning that speech can be transformed into the written form. With this newfound information, the children will understand that reading is a first step to writing.

Mathematics and Science are taught to our students to strengthen their logical thinking and their inquisitiveness as they discuss the concepts and explore the things around them. Through the teaching of Art, Music and Cookery, students will develop better psychomotor skills, learn the basics of the different art forms and cookery and express themselves creatively.

Nanyang Kindergarten believes that the learning of each child is both in the school as well as the home. We strongly encourage parents to work alongside with us in their child’s education especially in these formative years. One avenue where you can support us as parents is to join in our Parents Support Group.
